Our trip to Jax Beach is soon turning into less of a drunk fest and more of an activity fest....definitely the more preferred of the two, potentially more memorable.  It started out as the possibility of staying at TPC Sawgrass Marriott and playing the stadium course...that soon turned into a future plan when the hotel rooms were $265 and the golf course was $255 per room per round (not including cart).  It turns out the month of April is the peak season for TPC.  The prices become more reasonable in the sweltering heat of summer...something I think we should plan for another day.  

So....we stay at a Day's Inn on the beach instead.  On tap we have 3 different golf courses, volleyball and nerf football on the beach, hopefully boogie boarding and swimming in the ocean.  A number of memorable for some, new to others restaurant/bars  for mahi mahi, oysters, cans of budweiser, thai chicken salads, phat fast breakfasts, and such.  See details below...


Thursday

Jon brings a couple cases of beer (both bottles and cans, bottles for caps) from Atlanta; leaves around 4:30PM.  Jon picks up Joe w/ the Civic from the Jax airport at 10:30PM.  Joe has nerf football.

Jon & Joe drive from airport to Jacksonville Beach-Days Inn Oceanfront Resort (904-249-7231, 1031 South First Street, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250, Thursday Reservation #62324715, Friday/Saturday Reservation #62324162) and meet Toby at the Day's Inn.   

 Directions from Airport to Day's Inn - I-95 to exit 126A (9A) east to St. Johns Bluff Road, continue to Beach Blvd. and turn left (East), continue to A1A and turn right (South), continue to 11th Ave. South and turn left, 3 blocks to Days Inn Resort.

We contact one another for ETA with pimp phones - hopefully arrive at the beach by 11:35PM and check in.  Toby comes stocked with case of bottled water and case of powerade/gatorade.  

Jon, Toby & Joe chill at one of the local Jax Beach bars - Sloppy Joe's, Manatee Ray's, Lynch's Irish Pub, Tortugas, Bukkets-Baha - revising the itinerary.  In bed by 1-2:00AM'ish after pounding down a bottle of powerade and water; aspirin as necessary.

Friday

Toby up and adam at 5AM and drives to airport to fly out to Atlanta at 7:00AM.  Workin' for the man.

Jon & Joe wake by 6AM, on the golf course -Cimarron - by 7:30AM.  Powerade and water in hand the whole morning.  If really ambitious, stop at that Beach Hut for breakfast before heading to the course for a 12 minute breakfast.

Topher & Wags fly in at 11:23AM.   Topher carrying the Black Maria & Golden Blend (see these other Black Maria links, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,   Rent car and drive to Day's Inn (see directions above).  Contact Jon's cell phone to give ETA.  

Jon & Joe back to the Day's Inn by Noon'ish.  Meet Topher & Wags, check into other hotel room.  Hit bukkets for oysters and beer lunch.  

Jon, Joe, Topher, Wags head to Windsor Parke for 2:28PM tee time

7PM-8PM, Toby & Sunil arrive at the airport, drive Toby's car back to Day's Inn.  Topher, Wags, Jon, Joe head back from golf, pick up some nachos on the way home.  Everyone meets at hotel around 9PM

Dinner around 9-9:30PM at either Ragtimes or Harry's. After phat dinner, hit Pete's bar for 1.50 budweiser's, fly's tie for pints of guinness, ragtimes for live blues/rock band, and Papa Joe's.  Head back to the Day's Inn stop at Sloppy Joe's, Manatee Ray's, Lynch's Irish Pub, Tortugas, and/or Bukkets-Baha reminiscing on John Daly's hammered visit to Sloppy Joe's

Kevin arrives at Jax Airport at 11:12PM.  Grabs bags, calls Maszak on his pimp to give him the 411 and hails a cab to the Day's Inn.  We meet up w/ Kevin at the Inn about 12:15AM.  If he's early, I'll leave a key at the front desk for him to check into the room.  We'll stay local either in the room or at the bars within walking distance.

Saturday

Up by 5:45AM, out the door by 6:15AM to Julington Creek for golf...two tee times at 7:16AM & 7:24AM.

Biscotti's for lunch after golf?...might be tough.  If we can be back to the beach by 2pm that would be fly.  That way we can hit the beach for more oysters & beers at buckets, vball, boogie boards. Throw swim "trunks" on and play volleyball on beach.  Swim in the or .  Track down a boogie board rental store to ride the waves.  If can't find one try to figure out a way to steal Messer's and lose it.

Scope out 4134 Duval Drive for possible Sunday AM shower.

7PM - Ruby's Happy Hour, Old Time Sake?  Dinner - Harry's, Mi Amor w/ the lesbian family?  I know I'm forgetting a phat place for dinner.  

Hit previously visited bars.

Sunday

Possible early morning shower at 4134 Duval Drive for old time sake.

Maz leaves, damn.  Big brunch somewhere, beach, then Ward's landing for 1.50 budweisers on the intercoastal waterway & live music at 1pm till 5pm.  Become a spectacle by trying to hit a golf ball into a garbage can across the water.

Kevin hails a cab form Ward's Landing at 2:30PM to head to the airport for early flight.

5PM, drive to the airport 50 miles away, fly out, Toby peels out of Ward's landing about the same time heading back to Tampa Bay.
